I Wasn't Feeling Perfectly Okay When I Wrote This Post.

Jenny is a friend of mine who I met in my English class at college. She was one of those girls who sat at the back of the room and doodled on the back of her writing pad. Some days she had her ear phones plugged in and some days her chair would be completely empty. But she made sure she was at college the week before exams.

She’s a lovely girl, a little crazy but a complete blog baboon. She blog’s about anything and everything. We all do that thu. I mean okies, some of us do that too, we blog about our day to day lives, our experiences, our love lives, our lack of a love life, our adorable lovely jubly partners, our issues, our salt tin that patiently sits in our masala cupboard and begs for some tlc, our crazy childhoods and anything else that we can muster together to call a blog post, right? And then there are some who don’t quite understand what I-just-joined-the-gym means and post yummy recipes, I mean I really didn’t join the gym so that I could get free cereal bar vouchers. Free cereal bar vouchers don’t even exist Smiley. They do. Oh they so don’t. Oh they so do. And then there are some who take amazingly amazing snaps that leave our eyeballs hanging out of their sockets, right right? Oh, sorry don’t your eyeballs pop out? Mine don’t either. But Jenny just goes a notch higher.

If we’re out shopping together and her gaze falls on something amazing, like a t-shirt that has if you think im handsome, you should see my dad written at the front, she’ll snap a picture. “Oh ya know I could blog about it, you never know eh,” of course you don’t. Or if she sees some weird toilet sign she’ll snap another picture. “I am so gonna post that on my blog!”

And then there are the phone calls.

Jenny: …And we went to this gorgeous Thai place, it was sooo niiiice. The food was okay, but the place was top!

Smiley: Really? Where’s this?

Jenny: Oh ill post the deets on my blog.

Smiley: Erm...oh okies.

And if she’s had a deep conversation with her BF or a good heart pour out with her mum or an interesting discussion with her father on a world issue like global warming, it’s no different.

Jenny: OMG, Smiley you won’t believe it.

Smiley: What? Im absolutely exhausted man, it’s nearly 11.

Jenny: Did you watch that program the other night on channel 899696 about global warming? It was going on about the ozone layer and the rise in sea levels. And oh it mentioned that the world is coming to an end very soon. Dear god. How scary it that?Ya know what; ill blog about it tomorrow from the office and then you can read it, ok?

That would be lovely.

Sometimes our phone conversations are cut short and continued on the blog. Correction: Jenny’s never ending breath-takingly fascinating stories are cut half way on the phone and continued on the blog. She hangs up the phone with a polite “Ya know, I’m exhausted and im sure you are too, so ill blog about the rest some time soon, okies? Byee."

A few days ago, a weeping jenny rang.

Jenny: Smiley, you wont believe what I just did.

Smiley: I probably will, you didn’t leave the keys in the door, did you?

Jenny: No *sniff sniff* I deleted my blog.

Smiley: Oh my, didn’t you blog about it?

It took me a second to realize what I had just said. Shiiit.

Smiley: Oh.

Jenny: Do you know what happened?

Smiley: No jenny, but im sure you’re gonna tell me.

Jenny: Smiley, a little sympathy would be nice.

Smiley: Oh I’m sooo sorry Jenny, would you like to come over for a tissue and a tea?

Jenny: SMILEY!

Smiley: Im sorry, im sorry. Go on what happened?

It turned out that some lifeless bugger left some horrid comments on her blog and she ended up hitting the delete tab. Honestly some people have nothing better to do then sit behind a computer screen and be a pain in the blog. Like, go chew your toe nails.

I told her she shouldn’t have deleted it, that’s what that anonymous idiot wanted. People like that are gonna be everywhere, that’s just how this wonderful world works [Oh, my. Alliteration!] and we cant just let them get to us. I also added that she should go and create another blog and blog away and ignore the comments.

Jenny: Awh Smiley, you’re right. It was so silly of me to delete it after I spent ages designing that header and stuff. Oh well.

Smiley: I know, but what is done, cannot be undone eh. But you can design a new one now.

Jenny: Yeah true. You won’t stop quoting Lady Macbeth, will you?

Smiley: Nope, I love that line.

Jenny: You’ve been saying that ever since what? Year 9.

There was a pause.

I waited for it to come.

Jenny: Ya know what?!

Smiley: Err...what?

Jenny: When I get my new blog up, the first post will be about you! Love ya!

****

So, why do YOU blog?

Is it for the odd bit of bank notes, or because you can show your grand children your page with different font styles, and images 32 years down the line, or because you simply have nothing better to do. Tell me.

lol seems like Jenny is more into blogging than living!
And why do I blog? Why do I blog indeed. It's for a multitude of reasons. It helps me form my thoughts on different subjects. Helps me know what others think about it and make me take a different perspective. It also makes me think that when i look back years later i can i had a useful hobby. Lastly, I do it bec it makes me feel good. Enough reason? :-D

I blog 'everything and anything', it's the only place where I can really just write about anything. But having a blog doesnt mean you just stop talking to people.. talking and typing are two different things. I guess it's just a personal thing...

great blog btw ^_^
